And Yu-Shan Wept
Heracalum are a species native to the South as well as the river channels of the East – the desert breed clings to the oases. They are a breed disappearing from Creation, seen as a pest by many, humans often slaughter the beasts. As servants and protectors of the various Oases gods, seldom does such a act go unpunished. Near more civilized regions, that do not require the boons of the oases for daily survival, people seldom care about the wrath of such a localized god and are able to exert influence over the wellspring despite its protests given time. These broken and shamed spirits never truly recover and never again will their waters taste as sweet.
The Heracalum itself resembles a cross between a water bison and a crocodile. Equally at ease upon water and land – they are the kings of their small jewels. The blistering sun and sandy dunes that surround them on all sides are barriers to their expansion and keep their numbers few in Southern lands. Within the East, the River Heracalum is a fiercer beast of greater size and appetite. Heracalum of the greatest rivers, the Yellow and the Grey, these places see their Heracalum reach over forty feet in length and weigh well over a thousand stones. Compared to the southern breed that rarely grows beyond a hundred stone, the two live drastically different lives.

1 Death Roll: The Heracalum may make clinch ‘crush’ attacks using its maw damage pool (12L).
The Heracalum also often uses clinch ‘hold’ maneuvers to drown prey after a death roll or two if water is available.
